So I’ve been keeping tabs on the number of distressed properties in Tampa going under contract (pending) lately. Sort of a Pending Distressed Tampa Homes index if you will. With the majority of homes under contract in Tampa being either pre or post-foreclosure, this is certainly worth keeping tabs on.
And in the first few weeks of the New Year, 195 more distressed properties in Tampa have gone under contract. That’s just in the City of Tampa folks. It’s obvious that the interest level in distressed sales of Tampa homes, whether from first-time buyers, move-up buyers (if they can sell) and investors, is gaining momentum.
Here are some recent examples of distressed or bank-owned properties:
- How about a 2/2 condo just off Dale Mabry near Carrollwood for $16,500 (bank-owned, done-deal)
- Or a 2/1 single family in Sulphur Springs for $18,900 (bank-owned)
- 5 bedroom home of over 3000 sq ft In Cory Lake Isles for $294,400 (bank-owned)
- Bank-owned bay access townhome w/dock, 3/3, over 2500sqft for $369,900 (sold for $773k new in 2005)
