Plans for “The Cove”

Since The Cove apartments on Westshore Blvd. sold last year for $61m, I’ve been anxiously awaiting to see what the developer has planned. Those plans were recently announced as 750 townhomes and condos with three 16 story towers. Prices will start at $500k and go upwards of $3m. Currently, there are 689 apartments in the complex, so the re-development should not affect traffic all that much.

Kudos to the Ballast Point group for soliciting feedback from neighboring communities, which at this point seems to be mostly positive. Since I live in the general area, I’m all for anything that will improve the look and feel of Westshore from Gandy to Sunset Park. Now if we can only get the commercial strip cleaned up a bit!
